Robot Repousse

Wooooooo!!  Fun, fun!  Who doesn't love a good robot lesson?  This is a longer lesson that I've been working on with my fourth graders.  Day one was totally focused on the intro to the repousse technique.  We focused on TEXTURE, both real and implied, and then the kids started on the heads of the robots.

Those who finished early started designing and embossing the bodies.  We used dull pencils and popsicle sticks to complete the repousse part of this lesson.  Be sure to use magazines or newspaper packets to cushion underneath the metal.  I also had students tape each side of the metal for safety reasons.
